The prize table for the Eastern Masters Championships is starting to fill up, to the point that everyone will come away a winner. In addition to the traditional T-shirts for all and vests for the Eastern Team members, racers will receive a pair of complimentary specialized ski socks from DeFeet. These socks are thin and warm in the foot area and thicker through the ankle and lower leg, with a bit of padding on the shin. Check out their web site.

Also a pair of Hestra Racing Gloves (retail over $100) will be awarded to the men’s and women’s overall winners in the 59 and younger, and 60 and over age categories. These gloves are made in Sweden and feature a tight fit, warmth, built in curve for pole grip, and thick padding over the top of the hand. See them at www. hestrausa.com.

And there’s more. Any racer placing in the top three in his or her class over the course of the weekend will receive a special practical award (this will remain a secret) complete with engraving.
