The Sise Cup

In memory of George Anderson who passed January 20, 2008 (photo taken at Gunstock 2007 - by Stacey Weston)

Ski racing at its best is all about the love of the sport, and Masters is ski racing at its best. No racing career to worry about, no parents' or coaches' expectations to live up to; just the racing. And there's always another race.

Join fun-loving racers of all age classes and abilities at a different ski area every winter weekend, in the New England Masters Sise Cup races.  Whether you're 21 years old, or 80+, never raced, or a World Cup winner, your speed is relative, but your ski racing enjoyment is absolute!

New England Masters Racing is fun, challenging, as competitive as you want to make it, certainly addictive, elite but not elitist.  Come on out and ski as fast as you want, dare, or can on a closed course that's all yours!  Watch some folks ski amazingly well, then emulate them.  Find someone of your own ability and bet them a beer on your run.  Discover the true capabilities of your hot new equipment.

Skiers 21 and older race slalom, Giant Slalom, Super G on World Cup style courses at ski areas throughout northern New England. Springtime offers National and International Championships at venues across North America. (Sunday River in '06, Big Sky in '05, Aspen in '04, Park City in '03, Winter Park in '02, Sun Valley in '01, Sugarloaf in '00, Mammoth, Copper, Aspen, Breckenridge, Sunday River, Jackson Hole, Vail/Beaver Creek, Bachelor, Big Sky, etc.)

Ski with a fun, friendly bunch of extraordinary (and ordinary) people from all walks of life. Two or even three generations of some families often compete in the same event. Prizes are by age group and overall, for each race and for the season. Informal rivalries cross all lines of age and gender.  We're Masters racers; the older we get, the faster we were!

Race entry fees are $35.00 - $45.00, due one week in advance, and include a lift ticket.  (May be the best deal in skiing.)

Masters General Racer Eligibility - To participate in USSA masters events, athletes must be:

Late entries are subject to an additional surtax of at least $10 at the discretion of the organizing area. Areas will return entry fees or tear up check, if notice that the racer is unable to attend is received by the area organizer prior to 4PM on the day preceding the race.
