Matt Aeschliman injured while cycling in Lexington, MA

From Jessie McAleer:

On Saturday 6/2, Matt Aeschliman was in a pretty bad cycling accident when he was hit by a drunk driver while cycling through Lexington, MA.

He recalls much of the accident but was knocked out when the paramedics arrived.

He is going to be fine but has suffered some pretty serious including six fractured vertebrae (NO neurological damage), a fractured left tib/fib which was surgically repaired with a rod on Sunday, as well as some pretty serious lacerations and road rash all over his body.

Jessie visited with Matt and his parents and he is in good spirits. He is also very aware he has a long journey in front of him. Any warm wishes and shouts of encouragement would be greatly appreciated. He has been transferred to Spaulding Rehabilitation in Boston.

His cell phone number is 617-899-0532. His phone is currently off but he is occasionally checking messages. Over the course of the next few days he will probably be a bit more active. He also has access to email, so please send him your support! aeschliman_us at yahoo.com
