Mt. Snow, VT

The final New England Master's race of the season was comprised of hearty souls who weren't heading to either the Internationals or the Nationals and still had not had enough ski racing for the year. Although the Giant Slalom didn't count toward the Sise Cup, roughly one hundred racers showed up ready to roll. After a slight delay to reposition some needed fencing along the narrow tree lined run, the race was underway.

Susannah Phillips of class one took top honors among the ladies by winning both runs in convincing fashion. She was followed by class four's Patti Lane who came from behind to squeak out a second place finish over Sue Dorn, also of class four. Jill Gash was fourth overall with Sara Sherter taking fifth, Marilyn Pearson sixth and Michele Brennan finishing seventh.

On the men's side of the ledger, first place overall went to MT Snow's own John Grush of class three, who made his master's debut this year by winning both run's. Second place went to class four's Robert Resek (also of MT Snow) who's first run gave him enough to hold off a great second run by hard charging Bob Hill. Sandwiched between Hill and Resek was class two's John Pierce who claimed third place overall. Class two's Alex Gadbois rounded out the top five fastest men. Downhill Rod Taylor had two great runs to take top honors in class seven, Peter Whitehead easily walked away with class six and Brad Domina and kevan Bean took the top spots in classes five and one respectively.

It was a great season, have a great summer and we'll see you all next year!
